The listing says “Custom subliminal ✨ made just for you ✨.” US$34.99. 4.9 stars. “Delivery in 5–7 days.” You click the personalization box: explain your goal in 500 characters. Your thumb hovers over Add to cart, but you still haven’t seen a single sentence you will hear. Before you spend the money, find out what happens between that little box and the finished file.

Start with words you can change.

Edit every line, then carry the script into the free maker.

10 lines · 5 min test

Open your Sunday paperwork. Before sorting unopened envelopes at your kitchen table. Keep only the lines that sound natural to you.

One spoken idea per line. Nothing is saved until you open the maker.

Before you buy a custom subliminal, name the job

Finish one sentence before you finish checkout: “I want someone to do ___ for me.” Write the script? Record a particular human voice? Compose music? Those are good reasons to commission an audio. If the blank says “put my ten sentences over rain,” try doing that yourself first.

Put your first three lines into the free generator and hear a preview now. Return to the listing knowing which performance, pace or writing help you still want.

The custom subliminal overview covers the ways to get your track. For the choice between an existing video and your own wording, read custom vs premade subliminals.

Custom subliminal prices: the October 22, 2026 check

On October 22, 2026, public Etsy results for custom subliminals displayed offers at US$5.55 and US$111.11, with cheaper offers visible too. A 30-minute recording appeared at US$82.50 on sale against US$110 original pricing.

A Fiverr offer found through custom subliminal search showed US$5, US$10 and US$15 tiers, with two- or three-day delivery and one or two revisions. Put the total for your script, voice and revision beside those package prices before choosing.

Put the sale amount in your budget and the crossed-out amount in a separate column. I would choose a documented revision over a bigger discount: if line seven sounds rushed, you want someone to record it again.

What your payment should actually cover

Build your requested package around ten approved lines, a five-minute listening mix, a clear narration file and one revision. Ask whether the creator writes from your goal or reads text you supply. Specify human recording or synthesized narration, background, file format and personal-use permission. “Custom” leaves all those decisions open.

A useful quote separates script writing, voice production and mixing. Writing can include a draft and your approval; performance can include pronunciation corrections; mixing can include a chosen background, fades and an ending. Ask whether five minutes contains fresh narration throughout or a short passage repeated. Either can suit you, but the production work differs.

A US$30 five-minute file works out at US$6 per playback minute; the same price for thirty minutes works out at US$1. Repeating a thirty-second clip sixty times creates a long file without sixty separate performances. Put the runtime beside the actual work: writing, recording, editing and revisions.

Questions to ask before paying: give each answer a verdict

Keep these questions beside the listing. One reassuring detail is pleasant; a written agreement covering the whole five-minute file is better. Save the answers with your receipt, ready to compare against delivery.

  • Can you approve every line? Green light for a script sent for validation. If writing begins after payment, ask for approval before recording; refusal to reveal the script at any stage means pass.
  • Does it promise eye-color changes, height, a guaranteed glow-up or “100% results”? Pass. A body-transformation promise is no reason to fund an audio order.
  • What does “boosted x10” add? Ask for a production description: layers, added wording, processing or repeats. An unexplained multiplier earns no extra money from you.
  • How many revisions are included? One defined round is workable. No revision policy means pause the purchase until the scope and extra charge are written down.
  • What personal information is required? Your goal and preferred pronunciation can be enough. Demands for intimate photographs, medical records, passwords or private messages mean decline and keep your details.
  • When does delivery happen? Ask for a date, time zone and starting point for the clock. “Soon” needs clarification; script approval plus a stated deadline is a good sign.
  • Can you keep an actual file? Downloadable MP3 or WAV with stated access terms is useful. Streaming-only access or a file that stops playing after a week means choose another offer if you want a permanent copy.
  • Will it “make someone think about you”? Refuse that brief. Rewrite around how you want to communicate and leave the other person their own choices.
  • Are voice, background and total price described? Human or synthetic narration, named sound choices and an agreed total earn a yes. A mystery voice with surprise extras needs another answer before checkout.

One revision: define it before recording

“One revision included” can mean one corrected word, one new mix, or one round of collected feedback. Agree on yours. For ten lines, I would request script approval first, then one delivery revision covering pronunciation, pace and background balance. A new goal a week later is a new brief, which is fair to charge separately.

Send feedback as one numbered list: line 3 needs a slower reading; line 7 has a mispronounced word; the rain should sit lower. That is easier to act on than “make it more powerful.” Keep the approved script attached to the order so a corrected mix uses the same wording.

Fiverr’s order-process guidance describes a three-day delivery review window, with options to request revisions or extend review. Put a reminder on your calendar when the file arrives. Approval is easier after you have played the ending.

Turn “one to seven days” into hours you can use

One day means 24 hours; seven days means 168. A five-to-seven-day listing means 120–168 hours if it uses calendar days. Ask whether weekends count, whether the clock starts after your form arrives and how long script approval adds. A Friday-evening order can easily miss your Monday plan.

Keep two dates in the agreement: the first script draft and the finished audio. A 48-hour script stage followed by recording differs from a 48-hour finished-file promise. Your response time belongs in that schedule too, particularly when the creator needs you to approve a pronunciation.

If you want the track tonight, make your own first version. A human performer can still create a later version with a delivery you enjoy. You can pay for a thoughtful performance without making tomorrow depend on someone else’s inbox.

Download, keep, and use: three different questions

Etsy’s digital-download help distinguishes instant files from made-to-order downloads supplied when work is complete. It also covers browser downloading and digital returns and cancellations, including help for missing or misdescribed items. Read those terms before treating a digital commission like a returnable pair of shoes.

Ask for the script as text and a downloadable MP3, with WAV if you need it. Confirm whether a delivery link expires while your downloaded file remains playable. A temporary download window and an audio requiring continuing access to a website are different purchases. Keep a local copy of the approved version.

Personal listening, giving a copy to a friend and publishing the track are separate permissions. Put your intended use in the brief. For licensed background music, the Creative Commons licence overview explains how permissions vary, including adaptation and commercial-use restrictions. Agree on the use you need along with the sound you want.

When paying someone is worth it

Pay when you can name the craft you want: a human narrator whose pacing you love, original music written around your script, or a writer who turns your messy page into ten sentences you would actually say. A handmade gift can justify that care too, with the recipient involved in choosing the words.

Ask for a short voice sample on a sentence you supply. Your name, an ordinary contraction and one longer word tell you more than a dramatic introduction. A performer who understands your direction may save several evenings of recording takes. Put that saved effort beside the fee when deciding.

Greenwald and colleagues’ 1991 double-blind cassette experiments separated labels from recorded content in 237 participants over a month. The advertised memory and self-esteem effects were absent; perceived specific improvements followed labels rather than hidden content. You are paying for labor and files, not hidden power.

When making your own is the better purchase decision

You already know the ten sentences. You want to read every word, change one tomorrow and listen this evening. Make it yourself. Waiting 120 hours for someone to paste your text into a standard voice adds little when you are happy choosing your own rain loop.

If you want your real recorded voice, a phone recording and an editor give you control of the takes. Audacity’s narration-and-background tutorial walks through assembling separate voice and music tracks. Keep the editable project so revising one sentence does not require rebuilding the entire mix.

If arranging clips sounds like an unwanted Saturday project, use a generator. The subliminal audio generator page describes Supral’s tool. Standard voices are free; choose that route first when your main requirement is a private audio with your own wording. Commission a human version later if you can hear what you want changed.

Turn the seller’s personalization form into your own brief

Write the form you were about to submit: goal, exact situation, optional first name, pronoun, voice, background and duration. For a Sunday kitchen-table paperwork session, your goal might be “open the unopened envelopes and choose the next administrative task.” Add “first person, conversational voice, rain, five minutes.” You have a production brief without a checkout.

Turn each action into one sentence and paste your brief’s lines into the generator, one affirmation per line. Stuck on the first sentence? AI draft turns your goal into twelve editable lines, so you can replace “I stay organized” with “I put one envelope on the table.” Read each line before creating.

Listen to the 15-second preview, which consumes no creation and no credit. Compare what you hear with what you planned to buy. If the missing ingredient is a human performance, commission that. If you only wanted slower speech and fewer words, change those now. Save those preferences with your brief.

A complete script for opening your Sunday paperwork

It’s Sunday, 4 p.m. There is a mug on the kitchen table, unopened envelopes and a folder labeled “later.” You sit down to sort the admin you keep moving from chair to chair. These ten lines stay with that table. First person fits because each sentence describes a choice you can make yourself.

Keep each sentence on its own line when you transfer the script. Replace “envelope” with “email” if your stack lives on a screen. Aim for one finished sorting session with a next step written down, before dinner.

  • I put one envelope on the table in front of me.
  • I can open it before I decide what it means.
  • I read one page at a time.
  • I can set aside anything that needs another answer.
  • I write down the next action in plain words.
  • I give each paper a place to go.
  • I can ask for an explanation when a letter is unclear.
  • I choose one small admin task to finish today.
  • I can stop at the time I set for this session.
  • I leave my next step where I can find it.

Choose the sound before adding paid extras

Try your first paperwork line with two of Supral’s 18 voices across six languages. Play it at normal pace, then slow it down. For this stack of envelopes, I would start with rain; switch to silence if the drops distract you from the words.

If the words run together, “Personalize the mix” lets you adjust pauses and balance with Supral+; Pro adds independent volume controls. Five minutes gives you a short track to play before opening the first envelope. Choose a ten- or thirty-minute track with Supral+ if you want it playing through the sorting session.

If a seller’s “my voice” option caught your eye, ask to hear their reading of one of your lines. For your own familiar voice, Supral’s My Voice clones a 5–15-second recording and uses one credit per track. Try the same sentence both ways: your synthesized voice and a human narrator’s performance will have different phrasing.

Keep the version you can revise next Sunday

Without an account, Supral sends your 320 kbps MP3 by email through a private link valid for 48 hours. A free account gives you three creations a day, tracks up to five minutes and storage in My tracks. Save the audio beside your text as “Sunday-admin-v1.” Next Sunday, you will know exactly which sentence to replace.

Listen through the finished version once: check the opening, each spoken line and the last seconds. For a commission, compare it with the approved script and send your agreed revision notes. For your own track, fix the sentence or sound that bothers you and keep the version you prefer.

Return to the cart with one question: what would paying this person add to the version you can already hear? If the answer is a performance, original music or writing you value, the purchase has a purpose. If you are happy with your words and rain, close the cart and open the first envelope.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom subliminal cost?

Our October 22, 2026 public check found Etsy offers at US$5.55 and US$111.11, with cheaper listings visible too, and a Fiverr offer with package tiers at US$5, US$10 and US$15. One Etsy sale displayed US$82.50 against US$110 original pricing. Your quote depends on writing, narration, duration, revisions and extras; compare the total against a written list of files and services.

Are custom subliminals on Etsy legit?

Judge the particular order by its deliverables: an approved script, a described voice, a downloadable file, a delivery date and a revision agreement. A maker can do careful writing and audio work through Etsy. Stars and a polished cover alone cannot verify the words in your file. Keep the agreed scope beside your receipt so you can check the finished delivery.

How long does a custom subliminal take?

Use the deadline in your written offer. A one-to-seven-day schedule means 24–168 hours when calendar days are intended; the Fiverr package snapshot showed two or three days. Ask when the clock starts, whether weekends count and whether approval or revisions add time. If you want an audio tonight, make an initial version yourself while deciding whether to commission a later performance.

Can I see the script before paying for a custom subliminal?

Yes, ask. A bespoke script may not exist before the writer is hired, so request a writing sample and a paid workflow with your approval before recording. If you supply your own ten lines, have the order specify that exact text. Ask for a clear narration file with delivery too, so you can compare the recording with your approved wording.

Is it worth paying for a custom subliminal?

Yes when you value a particular human voice, original music, substantial writing help or a handmade gift. Compare that service with what you can make from your own brief. If you already have ten lines and like a standard voice, try a free preview first. A voice sample and an agreed revision are worth comparing before you choose.

Can I make my own custom subliminal?

Yes. Write one affirmation per line, choose a voice and background, and hear Supral’s 15-second preview without using a creation or credit. AI draft can supply twelve editable lines if you are stuck. A free account supports three daily creations up to five minutes. You can also record yourself and assemble the voice and background in an editor, keeping your script for later changes.

Can I get a refund for a custom subliminal?

Check the platform terms and written order policy before paying. Etsy’s digital-download guidance treats digital returns and cancellations differently from physical shopping and explains help for a missing or misdescribed item. On Fiverr, review delivery within the stated window and request agreed revisions or more time. Describe what needs changing in concrete terms: a misread line, a missing file or the wrong background.

Is a human voice worth the extra cost?

Pay extra if you have heard a sample and want that person’s delivery, pronunciation and direction. Ask whether you will receive a human recording or synthetic narration. For your own familiar voice, Supral’s My Voice synthesizes narration from your short recording and uses one credit per track. Try a standard voice first, then choose the route giving you the sound you prefer.
